Meet Rebecca Mayall.
Rebecca joined the Recruitment Solutions team in September 2021 following an admin and reception role at a firm of solicitors.
This is the diary of how Rebecca began her career as a recruiter with the Recruitment Solutions team…
We said:
We initially met Rebecca after she got in touch following browsing a few of the roles we were recruiting for locally in Rochdale.
After meeting Rebecca and chatting to her about what she was looking for in a career, it became clear she fit the profile of the type of candidate we were looking for to join our team. She’s young, bubbly, enthusiastic and extremely professional. All of these factors are important to us as team fit is key – you don’t necessarily have to be from a recruitment background to be a good recruiter!
After chatting more, it also became clear that our company and culture fit with what Rebecca was looking for in her development, so we asked her to consider joining us and the rest is history!
Despite only starting last September, Rebecca is absolutely flying and already actively working with a number of our clients, building relationships with them and running campaigns to help our hiring managers build their teams. Off the back of this success, Rebecca is already making double-digit revenue and building her career, skillset and salary beyond the admin and reception desk she was previously on.

I have found my first six months in recruitment to be a whirlwind – it’s super fast-paced!
Since we first met, my colleagues have told me how much the market has changed since the pandemic. The most challenging part of the market at the moment is how difficult it is to find the ‘perfect’ candidate. It’s essential to use initiative and think outside the box by contacting the best alternatives – effectively being a “consultant”.
I was in a job search when Recruitment Solutions contacted me along with a few other agencies. That’s how I understood how quick and vibrant the market currently is, as well as the importance of picking up the phone to have a conversation about a role, rather than just emailing and texting.
My diary as a recruiter has so far looked like:
An on-the-spot offer for one candidate and he started the following week! He was a perfect match the role, so he was over the moon and so was I.
Sending over multiple CVs for the campaigns I have been working on. The client has since been ringing in to select them for interviews, which is always good news.
Meeting and prepping with candidates ahead of their interviews, whether it is via Teams, Zoom or face-to-face.
Placing immediate candidates in temporary roles, which is always a good feeling. I had one candidate and he couldn’t wait to start his temp role the following week – he was eager to get back into work!
