We are seeking a motivated Audit and Accounts Senior to join our dynamic team in Middleton. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality audit and accounting services to our clients. This role is split into 60% accounts preparation and 40% audit, offering a balanced mix of responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.
The company will consider candidates who have stopped study or who are qualified by experience – they will also consider part time applicants on the basis of a minimum of 30 hours a week

Accounts Preparation (60%):
- Prepare financial statements for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
- Manage and oversee bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial statements with relevant accounting standards.
- Liaise with clients to gather necessary information and provide advice on financial matters.
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and year-end accounts.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Audit (40%):
- Plan and execute audit assignments in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Conduct audits of varying sizes and complexities across a diverse client portfolio.
- Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and management.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a clear understanding of their business needs and audit requirements.
- Prepare audit reports and present findings to clients.
- Stay updated with changes in audit regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in an accounting and audit role within a professional services firm.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting and auditing standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
