Recruitment Solutions (NW) Ltd are proud to be representing our client – an established, growing business with a strong presence across the UK. They are now looking to appoint an experienced Credit Controller to strengthen their finance team and support the continued success of the business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail driven finance professional to join a forward thinking organisation where you’ll play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow and building strong relationships with customers.

The Role

As Credit Controller, you’ll be responsible for:

• Managing and monitoring a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure invoices are paid on time
• Proactively chasing overdue payments through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence
• Handling customer queries and disputes promptly, ensuring issues are resolved professionally
• Conducting credit checks on both new and existing clients, in line with company credit policy
• Maintaining accurate records of all communications, payment plans, and agreements
• Preparing regular debtor reports, highlighting risks, overdue balances, and suggested actions
• Collaborating with sales, operations, and customer service teams to resolve account discrepancies
• Escalating problem accounts to external legal or debt recovery services where appropriate
• Supporting continuous improvements to credit control processes and systems

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills – confident liaising with customers at all levels
• High attention to detail with strong organisational and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and experience using ERP or accounting systems
• Knowledge of credit risk assessment, debt recovery, and legal processes (desirable)
