Job Description

Currently working with our Client based in Oldham who are looking to appoint an HR / Payroll Assistant on a permanent basis either full time or 30 hours. To ensure smooth running of the office and drive improvements across company procedures and day to day operations.

Our Client can be flexible on hours and will work with the right Candidate to find hours that suit – they do ideally want this working Monday to Friday. This role would suit someone who would like to work school hours

This is a progressive role where you can start with Payroll and progress into the HR elements of the position, or if the successful Candidates has previous experience with HR they can hit the ground running. Payroll will form the bulk of the role and duties will include:

Payroll:

  • Processing information on a weekly basis in preparation for monthly payroll
  • Process monthly payroll for up to 250 employees across 2 entities of the business
  • Calculate and process bonus and commission payments
  • Ensuring monthly compliance requirements are met, including PAYE and National Insurance calculations and submittals
  • Supporting other key payroll related processes such as administering bonus schemes, pay reviews or implementing other pay settlements
  • Ensuring compliance when rules change
  • Responsible for pension enrolment and deductions
  • Prepare payslips and issue to Employees
  • Deal with all queries regarding pay issues

HR duties will include:

  • Assist with the onboarding process for new starters – prepare contracts, letters and documents needed to onboard
  • Assist with recruitment processes, post adverts and sift through CV applications
  • Arrange interviews with hiring managers – manage diaries and availability
  • Complete right to work check for new employees
  • Benefit administration
  • Monitoring staff performance and attendance

To be considered for this role you will need previous payroll experience – this is the core element of the role, the rest can be taught / trained and developed within time. They work of an IRIS system which can be trained.
