Salary: £26,000 – £28,000 (DOE)

We are looking for an experienced Transport Assistant to join our client’s bright and sociable team within the Rochdale area. Overseeing a high-volume fleet of up to 77+ vehicles, you will be responsible for the associated compliance, any 3rd party accounts and daily inspections and report running.

The Role

  • Liaising with management concerning the sourcing of new company vehicles in line with company budgets
  • Building longstanding and professional relationships with garages in finding broader opportunities when seeking labour costs & mechanics
  • Managing company log sheets in ensuring that data is exact and well-maintained with regards to company callouts, inspections, servicing, and repairs
  • Meeting specified targets associated with company compliance and legal requirements regarding fleet
  • Ensuring that vehicle insurance, tax, MOT are renewed on time and the scheduling and facilitating of MOTs/ work
  • Completing inspections of daily mileage, check sheets, service sheets in ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and legal
  • Ensuring that fleet Driver Handbooks and Fleet-associated Policies & Procedures are up to date recorded when issuing to Team Members.
  • Ensuring that all vehicle accidents/ near-misses process and procedures are followed correctly

Your Experience

  • Previous experience from within a similar role, i.e. transport/ administration
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and sustain strong relationships
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to deliver reactive and proactive maintenance activities nationally
