Salary: £26,000 to £28,000

We are currently looking for a Transport Assistant to oversee and manage compliance and administration duties associated with our Client’s fleet of over 70 vehicles.

This role is ideal for those who are familiar with the booking and scheduling of (high volume) MOT services, insurance renewals and co-ordinating all other 3rd party accounts.

The Role

  • Managing a varied fleet of over 70 vehicles and all associated 3rd party accounts
  • Liaising with management concerning the sourcing of new company vehicles in line with company budgets
  • Building longstanding and professional relationships with garages in finding broader opportunities when seeking labour costs & mechanics
  • Managing company log sheets in ensuring that data is exact and well-maintained with regards to company callouts, inspections, servicing, and repairs
  • Meeting specified targets associated with company compliance and legal requirements regarding fleet
  • Ensuring that vehicle insurance, tax, MOT are renewed on time and the scheduling and facilitating of MOTs/ work
  • Completing inspections of daily mileage, check sheets, service sheets in ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and legal
  • Ensuring that fleet Driver Handbooks and Fleet-associated Policies & Procedures are up to date recorded when issuing to Team Members.
  • Ensuring that all vehicle accidents/ near-misses process and procedures are followed correctly

Your Experience

  • Full UK Driving Licence required
  • Previous experience from within a similar role, i.e. managing compliance/ 3rd party accounts within the Transport Industry
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and sustain strong relationships
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to deliver reactive and proactive maintenance activities nationally
