Recruitment Solutions (NW) Ltd is partnering with an established and growing national business to find a talented and experienced Credit Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and detail driven finance professional to join a forward-thinking organisation. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a healthy cash flow and building strong relationships, directly supporting the company’s continued success.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Credit Controller, you will be the backbone of the credit function, responsible for a full spectrum of duties, including:

• Proactive Debt Management: Managing a dedicated portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring timely payments by proactively chasing overdue balances via phone, email and in writing
• Relationship Building & Resolution: Promptly handling all customer queries and disputes, resolving issues professionally and collaborating with Sales, Operations and Customer Service teams on account discrepancies
• Risk Mitigation: Conducting thorough credit checks on new and existing clients, adhering strictly to company credit policy
• Reporting & Analysis: Preparing regular debtor reports, highlighting key risks, overdue balances and suggesting effective recovery actions
• Process Excellence: Maintaining accurate records of all communications, payments and agreements
• Supporting continuous improvements to credit control processes and systems
• Escalation: Managing problem accounts, escalating to external legal or debt recovery services when necessary

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

• Proven Experience: Solid experience as a Credit Controller, in Accounts Receivable, or a similar dedicated finance role
• Communication & Negotiation Skills: Excellent ability to communicate and negotiate confidently with customers at all levels
• Organisational Excellence: High attention to detail, coupled with strong organisational and time management skills
• Tech Savviness: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and hands on experience using accounting systems
• Self-Motivation: The ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts effectively
• Knowledge (Desirable): A good understanding of credit risk assessment, debt recovery processes and relevant legal procedures
