Job Description
The Credit Controller is responsible for managing the company’s debtors, ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining strong relationships with customers. This role plays a key part in safeguarding the company’s cash flow and financial health.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Proactively contact clients regarding overdue accounts via phone, email, or written correspondence.
- Set up and review customer credit limits in line with company policies.
- Resolve customer queries related to invoices, payments, or account balances.
- Reconcile accounts and allocate incoming payments accurately.
- Prepare regular debtor reports and aged debt analysis for management.
- Work closely with the sales and operations teams to address credit issues.
- Escalate problem accounts and recommend legal or recovery actions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection activity and communications.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and GDPR.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable Clerk, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of credit control processes and financial regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
