Building on her appointment as Head of Safeguarding Governor, our Managing Director Karen Reynolds has spent time at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy this month, continuing to support the school in this vital area of governance.
Karen’s ongoing involvement reflects a hands-on approach to safeguarding—working closely with school leaders to ensure high standards are maintained, policies remain robust, and the wellbeing of pupils continues to sit firmly at the heart of decision-making.
Safeguarding is not a static responsibility. It requires regular review, clear accountability, and visible leadership. By being present in school, Karen has been able to engage directly with staff, understand the day-to-day realities of safeguarding practice, and support the academy as it builds on the strong foundations already in place.
Speaking about the visit, Karen said:
“Safeguarding is about more than policies on paper. It’s about culture, consistency, and people feeling supported to do the right thing every day. Spending time in school helps ensure governance remains grounded in reality and focused on what truly matters.”
Oulder Hill Leadership Academy has made significant progress in recent years, and strong safeguarding governance plays a critical role in sustaining that momentum. Karen’s continued commitment reinforces the importance of experienced external oversight alongside dedicated internal leadership.
This ongoing work also reflects Recruitment Solutions’ wider values. As a business rooted in Rochdale, we believe meaningful community involvement means showing up, staying engaged, and contributing skills where they can make the greatest difference.
Karen’s continued support at Oulder Hill is another example of how leadership, responsibility, and community impact can — and should — go hand in hand.
