Emillie Petznick, the Rochdale student who struggled to find a job after receiving just one grade below the required B-grade English GCSE due to inconsistent teaching, has now found an accounting role following a job search for her cause.
The 18-year-old has landed an apprenticeship at Rochdale-based Wireless CCTV after bringing her search to Recruitment Solutions following knockbacks from prospective employers who required a B grade or above at English GCSE – despite the fact Emillie had already aced all other subjects and achieved a C grade in English following inconsistent access to teaching.
Emillie completes her A Levels in July this year with straight A’s predicted and will start her accounting apprenticeship immediately after.
Of Emillie’s story, Recruitment Solutions Managing Director, Karen Reynolds, said:
It’s fantastic news that Emillie’s been snapped up – both for her and also her new employer, Wireless CCTV, who have found themselves a very talented young person. When she told us her circumstances we knew we had to try and do something so we offered our services for free. Thankfully the efforts, and Emillie’s hard work, to find an apprenticeship has now paid off and she can look forward to beginning her professional career.
