Job Description

We are working with a well-established client based in the Bury area who is seeking a proactive Credit Controller to take ownership of customer accounts, drive the timely collection of outstanding invoices, and play a key role in maintaining strong cash flow and supporting the overall financial stability of the business.

Key Responsibilities for a Credit Controller:

  • Chase overdue invoices via phone, email, and other communication methods
  • Monitor customer accounts and identify outstanding debts
  • Allocate payments accurately to customer accounts
  • Resolve customer queries relating to invoices and payments
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of all transactions
  • Produce and review aged debtor reports
  • Assess customer creditworthiness and set credit limits where required
  • Escalate problematic accounts or long-outstanding debts

Skills and Experience for a Credit Controller:

  • Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or finance
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Good attention to detail and organisation
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload effectively
  • Basic to intermediate Excel and accounting system knowledge
