A Gin Festival is coming to Rochdale, and it looks amazing

Gin lovers rejoice – On Friday 9th February a Gin Festival is coming to Rochdale Town Hall for the first time, with over 120 gins on offer and to sample.

Organised by the Gin Society, the Festival runs for two days and will bring together some of the world’s finest gins – including some you know as well as a few new exciting tastes from around the region, the UK and beyond – including a wide range of fashionable fruit gins.

Resident DJ’s A Train Swing and Dr Sid will add to the fizzy festival atmosphere with a selection of vintage, speakeasy-style music, whilst distillers share their skills in a series of gin master classes.

A range of new and unusual gins will also take centre stage at a bespoke Guest Bar, whilst visitors will also have an opportunity to learn a few facts and fibs about how the gin craze began at a special talk where the spirit’s grisly history will be unfolded.

Other highlights from the weekend include the Gin Society’s hugely popular sloe gin and prosecco fizz, plus a selection of other prosecco cocktails, with botanical brewery Fentimans also supplying their range of tonic waters.

THE SESSIONS

Doors open at the Festival from 6pm until 10.30pm on Friday 9th February, as well as two ‘sessions’ – from 12pm to 4.30pm, and 6pm until 10.30pm – on Saturday 10th February. Proceeds from the Friday date will also be donated to the Rochdale Cricket Club charity.

Early Bird Tickets are available here at just £8.50 (plus a booking fee), and the fee also includes a bespoke Gin Society gin goblet to keep as a souvenir, plus a booklet of tasting notes.
