We are proud to confirm our sponsorship of the Rochdale Hornets wheelchair rugby league team for the 2023 season.
Recruitment Solutions’ history as a business supporting the Hornets dates back nearly 20yrs, with the directors of the company having been involved with the Club for closer to 40yrs. This latest investment sponsoring the wheelchair team has enabled the Club to purchase eight new wheelchairs ahead of the new Betfred Championship North season.
This latest sponsorship follows a 2021 Rugby League World Cup which made a huge effort to shine a light on the profile of wheelchair rugby, with the wheelchair competition taking place concurrently with the men’s and women’s tournaments and all players – regardless of the tournament – receiving the same participation and prize fees.
Director at Recruitment Solutions North West, Gavin Reynolds, said of the sponsorship:
“The recent Rugby League World Cup really opened the eyes of many people – including us – to what wheelchair rugby league can offer to the lives of participants and supporters within the local community in terms of getting people active, socialising, excitement, participation and wellbeing.
“The new wheelchairs will enable the team, who are growing in number of participants, to push on and remain as competitive as possible in the league. A special mention goes to Carl Abraham, who has worked tirelessly to get this project off the ground.”

These sentiments were echoed by Hornets CEO Steve Kerr, who said:
“I’m really pleased Gavin and the team at Recruitment Solutions North West have continued their support of Rochdale Hornets, and that for the first time they will be sponsoring our wheelchair team.
“Our mission is to create one of the most inclusive and diverse club’s in rugby league, and our wheelchair programme can only thrive with the support of its community. I’m particularly pleased investment has allowed us to purchase eight new wheelchairs to support the growth of the team, following a successful Rugby League World Cup.
“Unlike other forms of the game, it’s quite a challenge to resource the programme as it requires specialist equipment.”
